Storm damage.

I think the storm that had a go at Ian’s patch then moved down to sort mine out!
I knew it was going to be rough & my photos don’t really show the worst of it but it’s frustrating to find things bowed down or snapped off when you look out in the morning.
I’d tried to help the clematis with some string just before I went to bed but the rain was that ‘wet rain’…if you know what I mean & I was soaked thru’ in minutes…you can see my efforts didn’t help!
The zebra grass looks like an elephant had sat in it & the lavatera & firecracker thingy are face down.
Bloomin’ weather! :0(

Hi Mobee...you're right of course..it happens every year but every year we hope the summer will be better!
Actually this year has been fairly storm free so I shouldn't complain!:0)

Such a Shame Fluff, We were expecting heavy rain with 35mph Winds so i prepaired my garden ready for the lashing and it never came, in fact it was a lovely day with rain during the night.. sometimes the weather forcasters get it all wrong..

That must have been some rain you had! We've only had drizzle here, not really enough to water the garden properly.
Where's the sun gone? It seems to have disappeared!

I can't be that far from you weather - wise Spritzhenry...in North Dorset...the rain was so hard it kept us awake!
I think we got what you were preparing for Youngdaisydee!! Today it has rained nearly all the time...so I haven't been out for much repairing other than tying things upright again!

Oh Fluff, what a shame, Its awful to wake up to such a picture of devistation and damage. My heart goes out to you and I hope your garden is repairable. Its funny but it was only my back garden that really suffered and my veg are pretty hardy chaps so they will be all right.

Oh I'm sure it can all be tied up again Ian...I've done a bit today inbetween showers. It's the tall things that take the battering so I should've been more on the ball!
We've got a big party planned for next Sat so if it rains like that again I'll tell them to all bring canoes!! :0/

Oh dear Fluff, good luck for Saturday and I hope you dont need the canoes Lol:~))

We seem to miss the worst, usually, as the weather lands on the Quantock Hills and Exmoor, and not on the coastal strip - apart from the wind!
This morning on the way back from Church, it was bucketing down until I turned off the main road through the lanes and at home, the lanes were dry! No rain. Just a few minutes' drizzle today!

Oh, it's so upsetting. The wind has damaged so many plants in my garden recently, but we haven't had much rain with. I'm sure with a bit of attention from you, they'll soon recover!

Yep I'll just have to get my sou'wester on & do some more damage limitation Paul!

You are lucky to be getting some rain though. My lawn is desperate for it! We keep getting rain forecast but don't get it. It just rained a little last night.

We've been looking at photos we took last year of the garden & the difference in the colour of the lawn was amazing...so much greener this year. Something to be said for all this rain I suppose...plus the water butts are always full! :0)

Good luck with all your clearing up Fluff. It really is a shame when the weather damages plants like that :-((

I haven't had a chance to do much clearing up Silverbelle...after a long day at work & seeing to my mum I thought about venturing outside but all I could face was watering the toms in the greenhouse. Everywhere is underwater & drenched...think I'd do more damage plodding in my wellies!
Where did summer go? :0(

Keep optimistic Fluff...... it may be just round the corner. lol
