Does anyone remember....?

Now this isn’t a gardening blog as such (although it could be vaguely connected to the climate change we’re experiencing!)…& it might be construed as a little distasteful…but what the hell it’s Friday night & it’s just occurred to me but…does anyone remember…white dog poo?
When I was a child I used to see it on the pavement, in the Rec, on country lanes…it was poo that had been bleached by the sun…yes it was sunny in summer in those far off days…but as a youngster I used to think it came from when white dogs turned out a heap (I led a sheltered life). No, I’m sure I didn’t really but it made you wonder!
But you don’t see it now do you? Maybe it’s because we are made to pick up our dog’s doings now instead of leaving them to bake on the tarmac…or maybe it’s just never as hot as we remember when we were young…
Bit of poo nostalgia there…sorry…bet you never knew there was such a thing! ;0)
P.S. Didn’t think a photo was required!

Looks like I've joined the 'I like' poo club too so you're in good(?) company Ian!! Strangely enough I made the same observation to my husband just last week (NEVER thought to do a blog on it though!).
There used to be a lot of dogs running around the streets then taking themselves for walks and 'going' where they pleased. It always looked fossilised too!!

lol Fluff, brilliant. and your right you dont seem to see white poo these days lol

Thankyou poo brigade! ;0)

it was down to fungal attack. if i dont clear the cat parcels left in my garden they turn white. its all down to biology so i am sure it is ok on this site :o)
25 Jul, 2009
I never find any parcels in my garden...maybe they do them all next door!!
25 Jul, 2009
Does that include your moggy too Fluff? Mine seems to prefer next door's garden too, probably because she can't find a decent size spot of bare earth in mine!
25 Jul, 2009
I never see them doing a dump...as my darling daughter calls it...on the garden but I do catch big Morrissey having a waz on the lawn sometimes!
25 Jul, 2009
At least if they turn white you can find them, Seaburngirl. Misty unfortunately always uses her own garden - lady of taste, obviously. (If you met the neighbours, you'd know what I mean)
25 Jul, 2009
i usually find them long before the fungus gets to them. i really dont appreciate the cats at all. neighbour is proud of the fact her cats dont use a litter tray. but i wont fall out over it. grrrrrr
25 Jul, 2009
I had a similar problem SBGirl until I "explained" in no uncertain terms what I would do "if I found Her flea bitten, smelly ar**d, rat tailed .......(the next bit goes to far for even the enlightened GoY audience) ..... CATS sh**ing on my veggies again" Lol. :-))
I might not be a cat 'lover' but I certainly wouldn't actually do one any harm. Promise :-))

Watch out Ian......... you may incurred the wrath of the multitude of us GOY cat lovers now! Do you really MEAN that promise??
Finding it a bit hard to do 'funny' this morning. Hubby seems to have swine flu and feeling a bit dodgy myself so might find a way to send some 'oink oink' to you via GoY if you don't be nicer to those sweet little pussies.
If I go silent (some hope - you say) for a few days, you know why :~((((

Oh Lily you take care of yourself and if you dont feel any better then get a Dr. out. DON'T take no for an answer, tell em I SAY they've got to come out.
and yes of course I mean that promise, I find it difficult to upset slugs and take them away from their meal. Mind you I dont have a problem with hoyking them over the fence ..... Lol
27 Jul, 2009
Does EVERYBODY do that.?.......there must be an awful lot of 'flying' slugs about! Maybe they will eventually mutate and sprout wings. YUK what a horrible thought :~(( Thanks Ian, I will certainly use your name to pull strings in the NHS if need be but I doubt it will come to that as, don't forget, it won't be 'man' swine flu like hubby has, just the ordinary sort!!

i tend to fling the cat poo over the hedge into their garden now. after all her cat her mess. one neighbour actually cleans up if she sees her cat in my garden as she thinks it is so unfair on us. and with the kids she feels guilty if they get dirty by it. [not a problem realynow as they are well past the playing in the soil stage.]
27 Jul, 2009
Aaaah well if its only the 'ordinary' sort then you can run down the shops for the things he's obviously gona need,
cook him a good breakfast, as that always cheers us up when we're not well,
Do all the pots, but quietly so as not to disturb him,
Clean out the garage for him, obviously it must be done today as its Monday but he's to ill to do it himself,
Cut the grass, again this has to be done quietly so I think the scissors would be the best option,
and you may as well stick the broom up your ....(just stopped myself there !) and sweep the floors whilst your on, and after you've made his lunch ....... Lol :-))
I hope you get better soon, take yourself a nice hot cuppa up to bed, snuggle down and get some rest. :-))
27 Jul, 2009
Dishwasher did the pots. No breakfast or lunch because he's on a diet. Garage is like your shed, totally chokka but he knows where everything is (ha ha). Too wet to cut the grass even with scissors. .......broom option sounds a bit painful!! I'm not a totally bad wife though, I did nip down the road for some paracetamol, train magazines and some oinkment for his fevered brow. Feet up, cuppa, pinch some of his pills and a bit of GoY now followed by a snooze......zzzzzzzz
27 Jul, 2009
I'm a cat lover but I don't blame you at all SBG, I would do exactly the same myself. Even if the kids are past playing with the soil, you're not and it's never a nice find!
27 Jul, 2009
I couldn't answer this for about twenty minutes Lily, I couldn't stop laughing :-))

I've took a risk here Fluff, I've clicked on the 'I like this blog' thingy, I might end up looking awfully lonely up there all by myself! Lol
I for one can remember said 'doings' but am grateful that its one tradition that ISN'T being passed on. :~))
PS. I'm sure you made the right decision regarding the necessity of photos.
