Sow clematis
Sow your clematis seed now as they need a frost to germinate.
The easiest way is to use a fairly large area container and scatter the seed over the top. Sieve a little compost over the top, just enough to secure the feathery bits in place and then spread grit on top of the pot. Place the pot(s) somewhere a little sheltered and not in full sun. Walk away and forget about them until the spring.
This method was told to me by a lady on another forum who is a clematis expert. Many people mess around with ziplock bags and put them in the fridge then have to pot up fragile seedlings but if you are patient this works just as well and takes very little effort on your part.
