Bloomer, about Pernettyas - I haven't grown them before, so watch this space, although they're supposed to be hardy, so I'll pot them up when they've finished and cosset them so I can use them again. They prefer acid-y soil, so I can't plant them out. The Cyclamen, sadly, don't appreciate much winter weather, so I usually have to take them out in January and replace them with Primulas or something.
Thanks, Dd. I just thought that the two Pernettyas would look good - and I like the combination. :-)

Thank you,Spritz, that's very helpful..I should have been more specific,as I meant the Cyclamen..and I thought those Pernettyas were Heathers anyway! lol..some good my recent eye test did me then.:o) I will pass on the Cyclamen in that case,as I have a lot of Primulas and Poly anthus, that I split,so they will go in my pots instead...thanks again ..

Your pots looks lovely Spritz. I grew some cyclamen from seed a couple of years ago and they have come up again in the garden.

Thanks, Linda. That's something I haven't tried - yet!

It was quite a long process Spritz. Just an experiment really as my cyclamen had seed pods so I had a go at growing them. I got the information from the internet. It's probably easier to buy them.......

That's the trouble, plants from seed take ages, but I'm sure it gives you a sense of satisfaction! Well done you. :-))

Lovely pots of colour there! I planted a Pernettya 2 year ago, had to move it, before it settled down and grew for me, doing great now in its new home.Mine seems to like the shady spot i've given it, under the spruce tree.

I'll remember that when I dismantle my pots, Gralew. Thanks. :-)

use cyclamen neapolitum/hederafolium if you want ones to go through the winter. the others that are wonderful and some sweetly scented are only hardy to -5. Though I have 5 in the unheated conservatory and they are in flower again [4th year]. They form a corm and I actually repotted them this year. they deserved a treat :o)

That's if you can find any, Sbg!

you are kidding????? no C neapolitum. what is the world coming too. Do you want me to save seed for you from the ones under my beech tree?

Not if they take years and years to get to plants, Sbg! I'm too impatient......but thanks. :-D)
