I have a Euonymus alata with similar colours to this.

just looked one up and yes that lovely to toto, a brighter red by looks of pics,

This is always the last of my 'vines' to colour up and lose its leaves.
I think that every garden should have a shrub/tree/plant that goes a glowing red in the sutumn!
Is there a photo of the Euonymus on your page, Toto? I've looked, but coudn't find one.

Glorious!

The really nice thing is that it's growing right between the front gates so we have to pass it when we go in or out!

barbara i just put the name in search on here and some came up

OK. Thanks..........
Yes, I see what Toto means! Lovely....:-))

Its gorgeous!

I'm glad you've seen a pic of it. Mine is only about 750mm tall at the moment but does have the nice red colour. It is slow growing and I am looking forward to it getting bigger. Apparently it will eventually achieve a height of around 3mts.
I have no pictures of it myself.

Now why not? Who told me to have my camera ready at 'all times'??
23 Oct, 2009
Nice colour.

It's full of insects, Spritz. Glory is the right word for this one.

Toto's page? Yes - I noticed! LOL.

His camera.
23 Oct, 2009
LOL. No wonder he gets such good close-ups of spiders - from INSIDE the lens! .....heehee

Brill!!!

Very crafty...;-)
23 Oct, 2009
I'd never use my camera again if it had spiders in! Lol!

I am sooooo embarrassed - I was watching our local forecasts for Toto, and he's gone off before I could tell him the latest! :-(( Oh well - He'll soon find out!
24 Oct, 2009
Oops! Why did he need them?
24 Oct, 2009
I offered - in case it was important, with him walking up there! It's a bleak place, and the clouds can descend without warning - so you can easily get lost. People have to be rescued off the moors!
24 Oct, 2009
Hmmm! Yes I can see why you offered! A bit like the hills up here!
24 Oct, 2009
Not as high, but still dangerous. There's a special team to rescue stranded people, though. I do hope Toto is OK!!
24 Oct, 2009
I'm sure he will be! :~))

beautiful colour Spritz :)
25 Oct, 2009
Yes, it is - especially in the sun! Thanks. Louise and I saw several other Parthenocissus we'd never heard of at the GC yesterday! I'd love them all - but no room, no room!! :-(

beautiful.

Thanks, Sbg!

What an autumn this has been.... I didn't get a photo of my VC in colour because we had a severely cold spell and the leaves just turned a yucky yellow and fell off...lots of berries remain though and they are pretty...and my other colour fav the euonymous alatus...is flaming with leaves and berries but they're being so constantly rained upon that even their brightness hardly pierces the gloom!! Oh for some sun! thankfully we have some plants to brighten up the darkening days... thanks for sharing...your pics are a joy to view, as usual.

Thanks, Lori! Sorry about yours, though....
I haven't seen you for ages - are you all right?
31 Oct, 2009
Oh I'm just fine, Spritz...thanks for asking....even better since we decided to put off selling our house til next spring. Will have more time to organize the garden for the move... I won't have to leave anything! Enjoyed David's blog about your open garden day... you have a showpiece. Congratulations. Woof! (Henry)

Thank you. I had SIX GOY members visiting! How good was that! I think there were several blogs written that week - interesting to see my garden through their eyes, though! :-)) Keep in contact!
