Goodness thats quite a show. What compost and feed do you use.

Glad you like our balcony! :-))

I only use the cheapest bran form Wilcos in town. Sometimes from the 99p shop, in fact I quite like their compost! The compost for these pots may have come from some growbags I bought that were on offer at the supermarket where my wife works. I do though water once a week with a liquid fertilizer that contains lots of potassium, normally for tomatoes or roses.

Very nice a flower display and I like the protection you have used against birds, wind and people.

Gorgeousma, a warm welcome to GoY! I haven't put up any protection against birds! If you can see the string/wire I've put up to the balcony ceiling from the railing it's there to train climbing plants up during the summer! At the present moment I have some Morning Glories climbing up some of them as well as some Sweetpeas. There is also a small yellow-flowered Clematis, that is now flowering, climbing up the left side as you see the photo.

The chicken wire around the balcony railing I put up originally 12 years ago to stop our 5 small dogs from going out into the street! I've never taken it down even though the last of the dogs died about 4 years ago.

Thanks Balcony, I too find tomato feed useful in summer.

So glad you think of us as a "wonderful gardening family:)"! :-)) We like to welcome newcomers at all times & we hope you will continue to share your gardening experience with us all!

Drc726 I've been using it for very many years to feed my plants during the summer! I get very good results from using either rose or tomato fertilizer as both have similar concentrations of Potassium.
