No, not that i've ever noticed.
I thought your herbaceous clem was a bushy, border variety - this one's a climber, it grows with a 'Compassion' rose over trellis.

Hi Louise it's very unusual, lovely, have you got a pic that shows its habit?:-)

I haven't really, Ba.
I can TELL you though that it's not a true climber, being one of the 'climbing' herbaceous ones it LEANS which means tie-ing it in as you would any other non clinger.
I have it growing with a rose and i tie them both in, often together, on a wooden trellis which is situated behind numerous shrubs.
I let the clem climb and lean through SOME of the shrubs but mostly tie it back.

Does it flower for long?:-)

Thanks Moti :-))
This is one very strong climber !!! It will ramble along for about 8' and produces loads of blooms as it goes.
Needs tieing in though as it doesn't produce tendrils.
This one rambles through shrubs and i also tie it to a wire trellis tacked to a fence panel where it continues on its way !

I love that clematis, Louise...the flowers look so waxy. I've written the name down because I've just got to have one!!I've already got loads f clematis, but one more won't hurt, will it? I'm running out of tall places for them to climb, now, so they'll just have to climb over each other. Thanks for showing us....Annie
The other flowers are gorgeous too.
