Clianthus puniceous 27/12/15
Flower buds turned red now. I hope it flowers before Jack Frost comes to call. It's 3 months early.

It loses a few leaves in late summer but they come again in February. They haven't come back yet but flowers have been coming for quite a while.
Thanks T.

Thank you for the information, Thorney. Do you think Clianthus is trainable, tied in, flat against a fence?
2 Jan, 2016
Yes I think it would be trainable as it comes up as a "climber." Mine is in a large pot but once we know where we stand with this 3rd runway it could get planted out. Let me know if you want one.
I'm hoping I might see a flower on the white ones I've been growing this year, though they're still small.

Thank you Thorney, I appreciate your generosity.
The curse of the runway, must put a hold on your life. I know of another GOU member affected by it. Really feel for you, the uncertainty, more so if you have lived in your places a long while and put your soul into your home and garden.
