Seeds.

Seeds.

These are my poppy seeds only.
I have a few more poppy seed packs yet to be delievered.
Because they transplant poorly, and I can't direct sow until June 15, I will be starting about a 1/3 of each pack inside, putting a 1/3 on the ground shortly before june 15, and a 1/3 out again a week or two later, to ensure some success. Anyone else have any ideas on how to get poppies to grow?

I grow some seeds like poppies in those trays with little squares. You can just push the plugs out and plant them in the ground without disturbing the roots.

The ones I will be starting inside will be started in the little peat pellets..Is that what you're referring to Hywel? or do you use something else?

Wow, what a lot of poppies. You are going to have a wonderful display. I'm sure they will all do well. I'm using the newspaper pots for my seeds like poppies. Is your last frost date as late as June 15th? I didn't realise you had the cold for that long.

It doesn't really stay cold for that long, but frost can happen up to that point. :(
