lovely border, sorry for not knowing but what are the tallest thin purple flowers at the back? I would like some for my border

Linaria purpurea. They seed themselves, and don't stay where you plant them! Interesting to have a dynamic border but a little frustrating when you plan a grouping and it isn't the same the following year.
There's a paler one called 'Canon Went' that you will find in GCs. You can also get white and pink seedlings off a plant - how surprising is that!

Thank you. I will look for that. It's sometimes good to see a natural look though instead of rows and regimented arrangements. I prefer it. Often things look better when you don't plan and they happen by accident.
I am aiming for a soft flowing border full of colour this year. Currently growing salvia of different colours, cosmos, californian poppies and penstemons etc. So we'll see what happens!

Try Nigella too - once you've got it, you really have got it...it's a lovely 'misty' plant and you often get two sets of flowers in a growing season! T&M have a packet of mixed blues, or pink and blue if you prefer!
