Crocosmia is beautiful...a friend has masses of 'wild' 'self sown' when can i dig them up to transplant them - any suggestions please --spent a fortune on some corms this year and only have one flower....desparate !!!

Correct time would be early spring to lift and divide,but having said that I have moved them all times providing its not so dry they have difficulty re rooting,when you lift them dig deep as you will find a string of corms all attached,discard the lowest ones which will have little or no root and replant fairly deep in small clumps if possible. that way they flower better .ones bought often don't flower in the first year they will also fail to flower in deep shade.
