Late Delphinium

Late Delphinium

This one has just a few single flowers, a new column has formed on another. Short and late, but still lovely.

Thank you Sue. The Delphinium is our city flower, it is everywhere, almost invasively so. :-) I love the whites because they are just not around. I'll add more but this, 'Galahad' had to be my first.

Have grown Galahad myself from seed this year thought I'd have to wait till next year for flowers but one plant has sent up small flower spike just about to open, love delphiniums but unfortunately so do local rabbit population have to cover them with wire netting to protect them which also acts as bit of support when they grow through it.

Great idea Simbad. I have the cat keeping rabiits from much visiting, but I'll keep it in mind. These were from seed though the greenhouse started them, all of them bloomed but these smaller ones came late. I was really surprized myself, thiniking they would definately not be blooming til second season. Now i'll be getting a six pack more every year....lol :-)
