Yes, this is a perennial vine to zone 7b. It starts to bloom in June and continues until first frost in November. That's a very long time for a perennial !

Pardon my ignorance - where is zone 7b? Plant sounds wonderful flowering all that time.

Zone mapping here in the USA, is a standard measure for how cold our region will get on average in the winter, zone 7b means that we shouldn't have a extended period where it gets below 10 degrees F ( -15 to -12C). Most all plants sold here, come with zone hardiness information, along with light, water, and soil type preference for each plant on a tag attached to the pot. Hope this makes sense, I'm not very good and explaining things. It's probably done much different where you live. Hope this helps !

Thanks for the explanation, F1crazy! No, our plants just say 'fully hardy, frost tender' or something similar. In the RHS books (Royal Horticultural Society) they use a star symbol (1-3 stars plus a frost tender symbol) next to the explanation of each plant, so if it gets 3 stars, then it should be fully hardy.

Hello haven't seen this Dicentra before, leaves are different and cool lemon colour .

All your photographs really nice. Thank you for your comment - by the way my photo was luck (honest) - I only have a cheap camera the macro setting is always a bit hit and miss had to try several times to get it right.

Thanks Brian, that's very nice of you to say. Trust me, I take several pictures of the same thing too, everytime I go out into the yard, it increases my chance of getting a decent photo . That's one of the wonderful things about digital cameras, you just erase the ones you don't like, no more paying to have pictures developed that you don't like !
