It may be Alata Karensusan, the name rings a bell!!
It is a lovely colour every autumn, but the leaves soon drop off.
I bought it when I bought a Spindleberry because the chappie at the garden centre said it really needed another one to pollinate or something, to get lots of berries!!!! Maybe it is the same family, I forget now, it was a long time ago!
That particular Spindleberry didn't do any good anyway, so fat lot of good that was!!!
I have 2 others which are super this year. These pics are they!!

I'm hoping my Alata will survive, as I've tried two of the ones like you have with the berries and neither of them lived for me. Very sad. If this one takes, I might try again as the berries are just spectacular and I need lots of autumn colour!

I don't know Shirl, but it looks very like my Alata is just now...same shape and colour but mine is only a baby. :) Isn't it wonderful?
