apparently there are about 100 dif vars of dipladenia. I had two mandevilla which are similar but more vining with more limited colour selection. I loved my mandevillas but had to leave them behind when we moved in the middle of winter...didn't think they'd survive the move with temps in the minuses! Been thinking of trying these dipladenia as a house plant.

hi Lori, i am experimenting with my large dipladenia, have dble and dble wrapped it and left it outside against a protected wall, first time ...so wait and see if it survives.
i was getting bit short of space to bring all my outdoor plants in for winter and having been away so much the past 4 months, could not keep an eye on them.
We are having temps of -6C at night here, - and snow! - so am keeping my fingers crossed.
Bet it is nippy where you are!!

Hello Resi! I'm sitting at my computer watching the bluejays fly in and out to the feeder and the snow is drifting lazily down. It's a bit surreal...very fine flakes...very sparse...and coming straight down..(no wind). it was minus 16 C, here overnight, but we have been having a warmer than normal winter so far. We've had three thaws already! My dad used to say that we had to have three thaws before spring could come...and the groundhog in Wiarton (Wiarton Willy) didn't see his shadow on Groundhog Day..(Feb 2) So that means that we will have an earlier spring than usual. (If he sees his shadow it's six more weeks of WINTER! (Arghhh!)) I'm pulling for the ground hog! Let's hope he's right!
