A fast growing shrub, that we have pruned into a standard shape, exposing the peeling bark stems, which I find quite attractive....
It can grow very large and often send lots of shoots up everywhere, so its necessary to keep in check in our small garden
Approx 8 years old.....

Thanks David,....I also cleaned out underneath, and added fresh compost and fertiliser....and now need ideas for low growing plants for underneath.....Further along that border, I have Phlox; Penstemmon, Liatris, and a lovely tall lobelia, and a pretty Astilbe which I can't remember the colour of, but it looks like it will flower shortly....
