Oh, lucky you, Karen! :))

I don't think that mine will flower at all this year. All the tips got frostbite - plus, I just moved them...but, we'll see...

This one is a weird grower Karen. It's grown up to about 1m high, but now it is growing outwards and downwards. I suppose that's why it has 'horizontalis' in the name.

I had one which did the same thing in my last garden...and it was very amenable to the garden shears! ;)

lol..thanks for that! I have two of these and the other one was in a border...so today I shifted it to the fence. It can do what it likes there. I replaced it with a Leycesteria 'Golden Bells' which has a much nicer habit for a border I think!

Sounds nice! Will await the photo!

Yes, once it grows a bit. They do grow fast thankfully, but it's a bit of a stick at the moment! The one I planted in the front gravel garden is looking splendid though. I didn't used to like them much, but they have really grown on me...bit like a leafy, flowery bamboo really, and 'golden bells' is a wonderful golden hue that lights up the garden well.

No chance of seeing any of mine yet, all still tightly closed apart from the (as Karen said) 'frost bitten ones'

I had a huge one and lost it in the really bad winter of 2010. I have since bought another, but its only little at the moment.

I don't know if my 'Concha' is ever going to get going again after those winters Rose....and my autumnal blue...it has just about disappeared altogether now. Very sad.

This one is pretty though Karen :o))

Yes, it's not bad, but it's habit is strange Annie...it's very messy. Concha and Autumnal blue are lovely and grow upwards! :)) I prefer them.

Of all my Ceanothus Yankee point still stands tall, not lost a leaf in any of the bad winters, ready to flower now with some sun and north/west facing here....a true hero! I can still hear my ex brother in law laughing when he was painting the fence (Al paid him as he didn't want to do it).....do you really need another plant?!!!! Well obviously I did Lol x

7 May, 2012

Thank you ...I shall try one of those next! lol...I definitely need more plants!

7 May, 2012

I already have one in a pot waiting for next time.....

Great planning! :))

About the same size as the 'tree' was when I moved in. It grew quick and seems to have been that size forever. 11 years here on Friday x

That sounds like a recipe for a Vodka based Sangria!
