CD fence

CD fence

Actually, you can't "see de fence"! I wanted something to block my view of next door's garden: I'd already tried a strip of material, then part of a plastic shower curtain, but neither lasted very long. Hope this will last longer: each disc is wired to the one above and below, each st rip tied top and bottom to the mesh fence. The gaps between and the holes in the discs should allow for air movement.

I took snaps at various times to see how much difference available sunlight made. don't seem to be a lot; perhaps position of beholder makes more.

I was out there today and the sun was out and I noticed some reflcections on the gound and the nearby plants - took me a while to work out what was causing them durr! Maybe if I tie the strips a bit more slackly they'll move more in the wind and I'll have a disco light show!

Yes! bet it keeps those dratted seagulls and street pidgeons away too!

not seen any seagulls around, Karen, but it don't seem to do muich to pigeons. When I had a cat litter tray on an upturned crate on the table in front of the "wall" (nearest i could manage a bird bath), more than once a pigeon flopped down on the pots next to the CDs to check out the locale before hopping over to have a drink. Might have been the same one each time, though.

Lol....there's no getting rid of them is there!

they're about the only birds I see in abundance: seen a few blackbords, and a few sparrows, but not many.

oh...me too! :) We'll both get there Fran. When is it you're moving again? We're 24th October.

I have to go on Oct 11 to sign up and get the keys. After that, it's up to me when I actually move. It needs redecorating - well, I want to redecorate some of it - and get wall storage units built in so that when I do move, I've got shelves to unpack into. When I moved in here, I had stacks of boxes all over the plae which, no matter where I moved them to, were still in the way! in fact I've only just opened the last box that I moved in with three years ago. This time I want to take my time and get it right.

Whereabouts are you moving to?

2 Oct, 2013

That sounds very sensible...not at all like our frantic move out, move in all in one day! We are only moving six miles down the road back towards Dundee, but to a much quieter, more rural place. If you take a look at cottage Karen's latest blog, you can see it!

will go straight there and have a peek.

six miles would make it easier to pop back and forth, do it in stages; that's how i moved every time before, though less than that distance.

Yes, that is very true, and we found out that the new owner of here won't actually be moving until November, so if we forget anything, or run out of time (plants I mean) I could sneak back for it the next day!

I've checked several of your blogs but can't see the one you mean, what's the title, please?
