Not heard of them being a problem here, we have a terrible time with mosquitoes here, and they eat alot of mosquitoes for us , and apparantly, little green spiders too...lol

Oh drat... well as long as he got more mosquitoes than spiders you should be ok... releasing Dragonflies is one of the strategies that our Ministry of the Environment has been trying as a control of mosquito populations after the West Nile virus scare. That is a great photo... first class.

I find that at this size it is easy to be ambivalent and think 'oh well there are plenty spiders so should be ok' but I find that when I am watching one of the Beebs animal programmes my sympathies are always with the big cats and definitely not with the Water Buffalo,Spring bok etc,,mostly the Cats are endangered so its easy to choose where your sympathies lie.,especially if it is cubs involved. Even though I have to watch in fascinated horror!
At one of the areas on The Wine Estates where they were selling really nice jewellery etc I saw one of the most lovely skin handbags and realised to my horror it was either a Gazelle or Springbok skin and changed my mind about buying instantly-however the assistant cheerfully said the meat goes to the restaurant and the skins are used for the bags-they farm them!
There's no answer to that it's a fact of life but I bought a lovely turquoise and silver necklace instead!
