Cytisus Battandieri with resident Blackbird

Cytisus Battandieri with resident Blackbird (Cytisus battandieri (Pineapple broom))

Still lots of flowers to come on this Pineapple Broom. Pity they are now up so high I can't smell them, the scent is lovely. Semi-evergreen and has survived all the bad winter weather. Brilliant plant! :D

That's a lovely pic, Karen.
Good of the blackbird to pose so nicely for you.

My garden is full of blackbirds and their young today TT...you don't always see them, you just hear them scurrying away in the undergrowth as you walk around!

Lol. and the young blackbirds scurry more noisily as they grow bigger !

I remember when I started gardening this was always considered to be a tender plant. If it's surviving where you are Karen it must be pretty tough.
Smashing photo. :-)

I know! Some things are much hardier than we think Muddy. I prayed when I planted it and the first couple of years it never even lost it's leaves in the winter. The really bad winter of 2009/10 it did lose all it's leaves but sprouted back to life in March as if nothing had happened! I think I would struggle to keep it in land, but being on the coast.... :) thanks Muddy...btw, I planted four more last winter and they are just starting to flower too!

What else?

See who else is growing Cytisus battandieri (Pineapple broom).

See who else has plants in genus Cytisus.

This photo is of "Pineapple Broom" in Karensusan63's garden
