Newly Set Outdoor Grape Vines

I hope so Homebird. I have golden hop and virginia creeper the other end.

Thanks Six. We'd like to have a go at wine making, my Dad used to and it was wonderful. Need to get set up with demi johns and all that though. I have a red and a green grape vine in the greenhouse which are established so we should give it a go. Have you ever made any?

Well I hope you have loads and good luck with the wine making, at least you will know a bit with your dad making it. No I have nt , I had a vine and it produced lots of grapes but I could nt get to prune it , so had it dug out last year.

Oh, what a shame, I remember you saying. They do need controlling, I have visions of bunches of grapes hanging down through the top of the pergola, sigh. one day maybe. I'll let you know when the wine's ready :-)

Will you be lying on a chase lounge with hubby feeding you grapes lol thats my vision hehe. I will be awaiting for when the wine is ready :o))

I had a grape vine growing over a low wall Dawn , it had loads of grapes on but only those tiny ones no bigger than peas , a friend use to pick them for wine and then give us a bottle it was nice , we had to take it out eventually it had grown so big that it was smothering everything near it .. :o(

Dawn thats going to be fantastic.....Hope it wont be too many years before they are producing for you.....
