I really like the flowers, too, 6d. You can eat them, too, usually coated in batter and fried (but, then, you wouldn't get the courgettes, lol!)

The further away flower is male I think, no courgette behind the flower. I seem to have loads of them and no female flowers which is a bit frustrating since they do take up a lot of room.

I love the flowers & the leaves in the garden, even if they don't bear fruit -have some coming over the neighbour's fence and it adds charater in that area!

That must be so annoying, Scotsgran :-(( Yes, that one is a male flower. They are similar to cucumbers, in that the female flowers have swellings (the beginnings of courgettes, behind the flowerhead straight away, before pollenation.

They do provide a great show of colour,Grammaqzooo, don't they? :-))

Quite a few coming along, now, Amy, on our 3 plants. Was late sowing the seeds, this year. :-))
