I know its not rocket science but I'm so pleased that I have Gunnera Tinctoria seedings which have germinated from the seed I collected from my plant in the Autumn.

It is exciting. It's thanks to you Kathy, you inspired me to collect seed from my own plants and I didnt really expect them to germinate. I've read that it can takes months for them to come up - these were set about 6 weeks ago.
Yes Louise - hard to believe these tiny things end up being giants.

Well-done, Dawn!
It has very tiny seeds, doesn't it? Have you covered the seeds with the compost or just pressed in?
20 Feb, 2010
Hello Uma and thank you. Yes, I covered the seeds with the compost - very tiny seeds. Its taken a few weeks for them to germinate though. I have a couple more through now.

Thanks Uma - do you have much snow?
20 Feb, 2010
Oh, we still do much...:( Now it's +5C degrees and everything's melting, but it's very early for Spring yet. I cannot wait for all those colours you already have! :)

Let's hope your Winter doesnt come back with too much avengence Uma.

There isn't any chance to have Spring in February...:)
But we have a very rapid one and then in May Summer comes.
20 Feb, 2010
I'm hoping for vast improvements as we are fast approaching March.
20 Feb, 2010
Wishing you only good and sunny weather!

Thanks Uma - waking up to heavy snow at the moment, lol x
21 Feb, 2010
Hi, Dawn! Hope, all that snow has already melted...? :)
22 Feb, 2010
Almost melted Uma - we have a chilling north wind now. Are you still enjoyed +5 temperatures.
22 Feb, 2010
Hi, Dawn! Yes, we have +4+5 all the day round, but at nights it's -2-3. There is still much snow here, it's melting...Brrrr, I hate cold wind most of all...:(
24 Feb, 2010
Hi Uma, I'm pleased your weather conditions arent too bad at the moment. Dream on about your hot summer months. x
25 Feb, 2010
Awww, Dawn...hot summer nights that are filled with Mirabilis and Mattiola's fragrance...I miss them so much!
26 Feb, 2010
Not long to wait Uma :-)
What kind of plants are they?
26 Feb, 2010
:)) Dawn, you can find these plants in GoYpedia. Mattiola is called Night-scented stock, and Mirabilis iscalled the four o'clock flower or marvel of Peru.
26 Feb, 2010
I've seen them Uma - beautiful. I love the night scented stock aroma.
