Cuphea hyssopifolia - Mexican False Heather

Cuphea hyssopifolia - Mexican False Heather (Cuphea hyssopifolia - Mexican False Heather)

This is one of the most planted sub-shrubs in California...in Coastal California it will live for several years. In colder areas it is an annual.
It also has a tendency to naturalize.

Does it flower for a long season ?

These plants flower heavily all year. This is why it is over-used in my opinion.

Got a few of these in my garden too but they go unnoticed because they're used as an under-planting to fill in space.

It is overly used here as a filler plant...they also naturalize very easily even in dry areas.
