Wild Helianthus

Vacationing in my home town, wild sunflowers along the river, all hot and dry country, temp rising to 37C down in the valley country. These stand in a deep sandy delta at the base of a ravine in the mountainside, probably getting water at every rain. :-)

This does grow there with the penstemon, but this is north hundreds of miles.

I'll remember TT. I haven't been there for a few years, but a sister still lives in the valley. I'll get there again. :-) I love that canyon, my grandfathers old way up to the range land.
