A garden flower photo

The log pile for the next 2 winters (we have a wood furnace in the basement that heats the entire house). Patrick has been hard at work splitting and stacking. I usually do the latter part, but still can't lift a log...

Even though you may not be able to lift a log yet I do hope your wrist is improving and will be back to normal soon.

Thanks for asking Toto. I can do a little more each day. Prepared all the food for a dinner party for 8 last night - first time back in the kitchen! Patrick was delighted to relinquish those duties. And I'm driving once more.

Progress looking good then. I am really pleased for you.

Hope you soon get well.

My wrist is doing well, thanks, Lindak. By the end of the summer I should be able to start bringing these logs indoors.

Just take it easy for a while and try not to do too much....and all this from someone who never does as she's told. I find great difficulty in sitting still for too long. I get bored. ANyway build youself and those muscles up slowely and you'll be o,k and fit as a fiddle in no time.

Thanks for the encouragement, Lindak. Actually, the more I try, the more I find I can do, but I won't overdo things, I promise.

wow, that's awesome! how long did it last?

About 2 winters, Fran. We have now built a woodshed attached to the house with a log chute down into the basement, which makes for drier wood and less wheelbarrowing!

lol all mod cons - or old cons - laid on now! did you find that the pile got inhabited much while it was out in the open?

Not so much. We live next to woodland, and there are piles of brush and logs there which are probably a better bet as homes for the mice and chipmunks. The firewood is packed quite tightly. The mice do like the barn, and make nests in boxes of nails, of all things!

that's good to know - lol can picture a alrge family of mice beitn turned out into the cold, cold snow!!!!
