I've planted it in front of the Ophiopogon as a contrast.

Is this hardy. ? I bought one last year and took it in for the winter. It died. I think I kept it too dry. It had no name on it so I couldn't find any information about it.

I read the plant label, and when I brought it home, I checked it out in my RHS book, and they both say that it is, Hywel! Fingers crossed...
