Popped into Aldi yesterday and bought a couple of shrub roses - Marjorie Fair and Fred Loads - £1.79, look OK, took the risk as so cheap.

Wow! Aldi and Morrissons both have great deals on plants don't they.

They are lovely bloomer, but they don't usually have much scent, although I have one that does....'Scented Carpet' it is fantastic. Scent like a sweetie shop! This one reminds me of my minature climber...'Bridge of Sighs' which also has a lovely scent.

More rose bargains ..... B&Q. Had patio roses yesterday, Yellow and Pink Tiara, were £5.98 reduced to £1.50. Had to get 8! Will do Ok in pots too, according to the label. Repeat flowering until frosts.
