Pinanga coronata ‘Kuhlii’

Pinanga coronata ‘Kuhlii’ (Pinanga coronata ‘Kuhlii)

My Kuhli palm is growing very well since I purchased it. You can still see the mottled leaves which become more enhanced as it grows larger and older. Photo taken November 11, 2024.

It is very ornamental palm, but very tropical.

Like other palm pictures you have posted this one looks familiar, I may have seen it in the shops here. But there are so many that it's hard to tell & many look quite similar! Plus, as I'm not about to buy one, I rarely look at the name of the plant on the label - but then who does? Unless you are an enthusiast of some plant the rest all look more or less alike.

Yes, many palms do look very similar.

This palm is typically only available in specialty palm nurseries. You’re probably seeing Archontophoenix cunninghammiana or alexandrae (king palms) for sale, they’re more common palms available and are very easy to grow. King palms are commonly used as street and landscape trees here. They become big trees to 60 ft (18 m) tall here. Pinanga coronata grows only to 6 to 8 ft (2 to 2.5 m) tall in California.
