Euphorbia pulcherrima - Poinsettia, Christmas Plant

Euphorbia pulcherrima - Poinsettia, Christmas Plant (Euphorbia pulcherrima - Poinsettia, Christmas Plant)

Several Christmas plants growing in the ground next to this
house a couple blocks from where I live in San Diego, CA. Photo taken Dec. 16, 2009. Unfortunately, due to lighting the pic isn't very clear.

Yes, it's pretty wonderful they are commonly grown
in the ground here. I've noticed so many tall plants
blooming in my neighborhood now. It has been warm
the last few days and suppose to get warmer...however,
by seeing these plant makes it feel a bit more like Christmas.

euphorbia pulcherrima! Governor Poinsette was a very interesting historical character....
How strange it would seem to be suffering with the heat at Christmas...a novel experience...lol. It is a very chilly minus 17 degrees C. outside my door tonight...with a windchill factor that makes it feel like minus 25! Enjoy!

Lori:

WOW!!! It's very cold where you live now. Stay warm.

It's not suffering from heat...even though today it was 80 degrees F / 26 degrees C. Poinsettia love warmth...except during hot weather in summer when they commonly wilt.

Sandra:

Thanks! Can you imagine a Poinsettia 3 times larger than these plants? I've seen them that tall.

Believe it or not...today was even warmer than yesterday...it's
starting to feel like summer. However, it's suppose to cool
down a little on Monday.
