Recycled pond

This is my recycled (cold water tank from the loft) pond. A couple of friends donated some frog spawn back in the spring, which resulted in many froglets jumping around the garden. I was also given half a dozen Dragonfly nymphs, which climbed the Flowering Rush and became adults, leaving their skins behind, clasping the stems.

What was interesting, was a few days later I watched a Blackbird pull one of the skins off the stem and eat it ! Must be like eating an eggshell ! There's no accounting for some peoples tastes eh ? !

lol would like to share its dinner ha ha, must of been a female as like chickens they either eat their own shell and grit to make the egg shell harder.

Ah, another cistern tank pond on GoY! Yours looks a bit bigger than mine tho lol I had to construct a little ladder so the frogs could climb in and out! Belated welcome to GoY - enjoyed looking at your pictures - looking forward to seeing it with everything planted and growing!

That's spooky Sid, yesterday I was sawing and bending an old fridge shelf into a ladder to hang over the side ! During the summer I had a log in place to overhang the water but it kept falling in. (I suspect next doors' inquisitive cat was standing on it !)
