Lulu, no we had it done in Nov. last year. If you are interested, wrote a blog called "From the North Face of the Eiger to something much more manageable". Think I wrote it in Feb. this year, with pics how it was, then the workers in pouring rain, almost every day, and a bit of the finished terraces. Thought I just mention it.

How about some posh small leaved ivies in pots, sunk so you can't see them, they'd look nice all winter too, and you could lift them out and check the roots occasionally. I've done that with a few pretty ivies I bought on line, some are bright yellow or almost white leaved, and like sun too:-) Your garden looks great on the right hand side of this pic too, lovely evergreens beyond the trellis:-)
