Yes they bloomed! My Hoya is outside. It's in the shadehouse which is attached to the house and covered in shadecloth which you can see in the background of the shot. The shadecloth does block out the harmful UV rays of the sun, but it doesn't really provide a whole lot of shade.

One of my favourite vines!
I have one climbing and one trailing now - sadly they have to be indoors here.

It does have such a fantastic flower, Stevie. It is definitely interesting.
Crissue, yes it is fragrant. The blooms are tiny, only about 1 cm across but they have a lovely perfume.
Meanie, mine is very slow growing but is starting to trail down over the hanging basket now. I can't wait for it to fill out and be covered in blooms.

Wow, that's one gorgeous plant. I had it growing in my kitchen some years ago, when I first returned to live in NZ. But sadly it never flowered whilst I was in that house & as it had wound its way halfway around the kitchen, I thought it best to leave it where it was. I think it would only grow indoors in NZ.

Thanks Bernieh...:)))

You're very welcome, Crissue!
Dwyllis, I'm impressed that yours grew so much! Mine took two years to flourish and bloom but it has been outdoors here. I think you're right about keeping it indoors over there though.
