Maybe houseleeks would grow in the gravel. They will grow in walls so I should think they would.

You can still plant into membrane Yorkshire. I have it under our rockery and I cut crosses into the membrane and planted into those. My garden was left for 18 months but very few weeds came through and as the plants have spread we´ve had nothing.

How wonderful a blank canvas to start on!
Here are a few of my ideas which have worked well on my little rockeries.
1, Some Dwarf Evergreens to add structure and backbone e,g Dwarf Conifers, both round and pencil slim.
Hebes [Green Globe and Hebe Pingulfolia Pagei
Heathers
2.Minature Flower, thers so many depending on size, colour and season, it maybe good to start with some Spring ones to give you some colour, you could also plant some bulbs
The following are just a few that I wouldnt be without.
Aubrieta, Alssyum, Cerastium white . Campanula. California Poppies.
Primulas,Pinks [Ameria sea Pink great grass like foliage as well as pretty pink flowers] Phlox.
Rock Geraniums.Mossy Saxiraga. Sedums.Semperviums
Hope you have found the above helpful, I m sure you will get lots more from our Goy friends, Good Luck and look forward to seeing the development ;0)
