Man o' the Forest...or Greenman

Lori

By Lori

Man o' the Forest...or Greenman

this is the breaking point of the limb that fell off of the cottonwood in an ice storm two winters ago... When I saw the pattern in the wood I was surprised.. I added three small details.. eyes, nosetip and lower lip...lol. I had to do some light sanding to remove the worst splinters...

Hello Kev...At present he is leaning against the fence in my back garden...He will speak to me one day...and then I'll know where he needs to be...lol. maybe.

Open it up as a tourist attraction- you'll make a fortune!

Sell charcoal rubbings of it, tell em' it's the eco version of the Turin Shroud.

...when it gets near to Christmas, get some cotton wool and some red cloth............if you build it, they will come.

Seriously, speaking as a (not very good/amateur) photographer, It would be interesting to see the 'faces' it would pull in different light angles/shades
Could offer some good shots.

failing all that, put it on eBay.

I'll be your publicity man Lori.
But first, where's the other half of it ?
Not still rooted is it ? (That'll be the tour stuffed then ! )

The rest of the branch is turned upside down, three branches make a tri-pod of sorts and my honeysuckle is leaning rather heavily upon it.. Will post a pic!! No worries ...tours welcome...hahaha

That is a very nice thought...Grammazoo! Thank you..I have to find a better place for him than leaning up against the fence! But where? food for thought.

4 Jun, 2008

I'd love him to be our Green Wizard. Amazing work you did with this, Lori.

Is there anything you can't do..!!! You have more artistic talent in your pinky that I have in my whole arm ! You never cease to amaze me.

How to respond...? My grief Flcrazy I feel bad taking credit...it's just that this is nature's work. But thank you so much... I've come back to this very late it seems...lol.
You'd be most welcome to give him a place in your theme garden, David...things have changed though haven't they? Finding the face was a little like the childhood game of cloud gazing...Oh...there's a horse...or a dog... or the Taj Mahal!!! lol....
