Aconite

Aconite (Aconitum carmichaelii)

The common name - 'Monkshood' really suits this plant! It is useful as it flowers so late at the back of the border, but it needs plant supports as it tends to flop.

I love the colour of this . I nearl bought one last Friday on a stall in the open air market in Ammanford.
The lady is there every week so I think I will buy it next time.

Another wonderful shot. It's different to the Aconites that I've seen before.

I really love the colour and form of this plant. I had some growing in my previous garden, I will put it on my plant list.

Thanks - but Pansy, don't forget how poisonous this is! These also grow up to about 6'.

Gorgeous shot Spritx. This is a wild flower here in the birch groves. I loved their season, such delicate things. I'll have to collect wild flower shots this summer.

REALLY? How wonderful to see them growing wild! Yes, please - I expect a blog on wild flowers in Alaska at some point in the future! :-)

Oh, I must. I really missed out last year. All the cool rain made windflowers very profuse. They were all around an old place I loved, Easy to access that forest. I definately will.
