No - sorry, they were here already and they just seed themselves - which is great!

I think the hollyhock is my favourite flower but sadly I`ve never had any success with growing them. Is it true that they prefer poor soil which is what I`ve been told by the chappie at our local garage where they seem to grow in abundance down the side of the garage in what looks like scrub and grit.

i grew one this summer and was in my new raised bed with good new topsoil, grew to about 6/7 ft stroller, so not sure about that

I like them too but even in their first year mine suffer with rust so I have given up on them.

hard to get rid of rust once it starts, gets in the soil to if leaves arent taken off right away :o(

Yes - they do get rust, but apparently not at this time of year - why not?

Mine grow anywhere, Stroller - in the gravel path as well as in the proper place in the flower bed! lol.

I don't know, to be honest, Sandra! I'm no expert on diseases - but I do have a book - I'll take a look at it!

i didnt get any rust on mine at all, have read about saving plant if rust but not how it thrives, can get in soil if leaves arent removed right away ,
