Blooming onion (Allium Schubertii)

Isn't this the coolest looking ornamental onion you've ever seen...lol. It's larger than a basketball ! It's called Allium Schubertii. I've been after this one for years, finally found it last Fall.

Sunblest, hope I didn't ruin your surprise....
Cool David, which varieties do you have, and more importantly, are they going to make me crave chocolate....????....;-)

Might do, Fl! Have but one this year, a variety named "Beau Regarde". It is representing Violet Beauregard, the gum-chewing brat in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" who ate the stick of gum which was a 3-course meal, and turned into a...giant blueberry!! Well, have been able to grow this allium alongside blueberries (including a dwarf variety called "Top Hat" (for Willy Wonka's trademark headwear) by keeping the berries in pots of ericaceous compost. A marvellous double-act for our theme! Also here is Hemerocallis "Blueberry Cream", which is now in leaf and, I hope, will flower this year, being fairly new. So, if the chocolate theme isn't enough, could this lot persuade you to reach into the freezer/refridgerator for the desserts, haha?
