Street divider. (Aloe striata.)

Part of the new city landscaping is getting some nice exotics. This part of a block long planting of Aloe striata.

it is wonderful when they plan for decent plants.
The city of Hull invested in beautiful plantings in the main approaches to the city. I was amazed when I moved here in 1977 as it starts with crocus then into daffs and blossom trees it always makes going into the city the only joy. the roads are very congested now though so rarely enjoy the driving aspect.

Exactly right. The use of these plants is new. Usually in the old days it would have been Ivy. Or plum tree's. No imagination or trying to say like now "sunny climate here".
I used to post in the local paper about our ugly public plantings..then it changed. Was it me,or coincidence?..wink.

Great idea, Stan. Love the aloe plants too, my friend has a couple indoors potted up. You never know, sometimes persevering with an idea can eventually sink in with the appropriate people!
I had an agave in the back for many years, which actually grew a very large flower stalk, then it survived until a bad winter. A nice touch of the exotic.
