Shame you lost yours Sandra ... this one is tiny at the moment and the poor little flowers get lost amongst the other plants.

i always push the bounderys....i take the losses hard ..but love it when they get through our winters...

The lack of rain, the heat, the strength of the sun and the humidity over here limits the pushing of the boundaries somewhat ... I'm so pleased I managed to get a hellebore to grow last year ... and it's still going strong so now I'm waiting to see if I can keep it going long enough to bloom.

isnt it funny how different our gardens are...i got hellebores growing all over the garden....

Hellebores up here are an unknown ... I really don't know anyone who grows them ... so when I was sent one by a friend of a friend, I went to the best local nursery for advice (nursery's been here for over 30 years now) and they had never stocked it!! I was also sent a fuchsia ... lasted only four days in the summer heat and humidity ... can't get them in the nursery either.

fuchsias would hate the humidity.....maybe youd have to have a shade house and air conditioning...lol...
why do we always want what we cant have?...

Lol ... had a bit of a chuckle over your comment because I did put the fuchsia in my greenhouse (coolhouse) next to the door from the house where the air-conditiong blows out and in a spot where it got a lovely cool gentle updraught from under the house!!! .... didn't work. Usually I don't try and grow what I know simply won't survive but I felt obliged to try to grow this one because it was a gift.

This one is tiny Marguerite and the colour is more of an orangey red ... as well as that both 'paws' are in flower at the moment.
