Arbutus menziesii

This arbutus tree went down yesterday. It was old and gorgeous. It is our neighbours tree and the picture shows it from our side. I loved that tree but it created some problems for our neighbours. The wood was sold to a woodworker who will create a chest out of it, so the tree will live in another form.
Here it is shown half way down. I will miss it.

No, I cannot buy it. It is already taken. I wish I could. We have lots of Arbutus trees on our property . Some are pretty good size, but we are not planning to take any of them down. It is our (Canada) only native broadleaved evergreen tree.

This tree is evergreen, but very messy during the summer when it loses all old leaves and growing new. We have one close to our deck and must constantly clean up (several times /day.)

It does look a lovely tree, and good to know that something lasting will be made from it.

I read somewhere, that trees cry, when they are cutted. It was detected by some sensors, I do not remember the details. We should apologize to each tree we cut, as trees do not do any harm to us or to the nature. I would never cut that tree. It looks healthy.
