My dwarf tree fern finished its flush of new fronds about three weeks ago. It loves growing under my shade structure in the front yard. Photo taken May 2, 2013.

It's such a beautiful small fern. I do need to move it, though...as the roots have grown into the ground from the holes in the pot. It's happens so often to my plants here.

It's my favorite dwarf tree fern. The other dwarf tree ferns usually have stiff fronds..and this one has very soft fronds.

It should grow very well outdoors in summer there. It loves lots and lots of water.

Would it? how low a temp can it take?

I would guess it should take temps down to just above freezing for a short period of time without damage. I've read it usually will die with temps a few degrees below freezing.
