Iced Bougainvillea

Iced Bougainvillea (Bougainvillea)

Taken in the unheated conservatory during recent Arctic conditions as an example as to the incredible resilience of plants which I've often commented upon. The temperature outside was -9C and the temperature inside was -2C. The colourful bracts last for months throughout the year, the leaves will grow back when light levels and temperatures become CONSISTENTLY higher. This particular example is located in the conservatory because of its unusual flowering - it has both cream and pink bracts on the same plant.
