These do not run - they are clump formers. I'm trying to get the single ones to self sow but it's a slow process considering it's a British native. But I think it does better on alkaline soils and mine is acid

Ah Andrew, might that then change things regarding our conversation about Kent Bells ?
Where i have mine is alkaline soil and very poor.
What do you think ?

I'm growing a couple of campanulas here already quite happily so I don't think soil acidity will be an issue. There are very few plants that can't cope with an acid soil but many that will not tolerate lime
