This tall Brazilian tree blooms all summer long with 18in/46cm long flower spikes which contain many fragrant flowers. Photo posted for Camillia. Photo taken at the San Diego Zoo Sept. 2007.

Yes, it's native to north of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It's very tropical in origin and needs a lot of heat to bloom well.
