Cerinthe major Purpurascens Honeywort

By Robertr

Cerinthe major Purpurascens Honeywort (Cerinthe major Purpurascens)

An easy (and happily self-sowing) annual, with lovely silver, curving hoods, with deep purple bells, hanging like droplets below; only thing that seems to throw them is too rich a soil, they never grow as strong. Sear the stem ends in boiling water for thirty seconds if you want to add it to a cut flower display.

Very different, Robert. I like unusual looking flowers. I don't think I've ever seen this one.
