These are new - to me and to the world of Coreopsis, lol.

They were bred specially, and are meant to be hardy. I don't know about that yet, of course.

huuuurrrmmm excuse me. i said would look good in new bed first....think i should win first place lol......and i bet it looks fantasic.

You can have a prize as well, Angie - 'X' - there you are!! lol.

They are the right colour, yes, but they were such disappointing weedy plugs that they don't look fantastic! They need to fill out a LOT. If they are hardy, fine. Next year they might look good.

12 Jul, 2009

are they fully hardy though Spritz?...not sure on that you know, you could try pinching out all the top shoots?

12 Jul, 2009

The only reason that I think they may be hardier than most, is that I read an article on the breeder and what he has achieved by crossing C. vercillicata with others to produce new, hardier strains. I'll have to cover the crowns with mulch, I expect, but I got a collection of these new Coreopsis, so I'm hoping that they DO survive! One is called 'Cumbia' I think. They are still in the intensive care ward. NOT a good set of plants!

If I pinched them out any more, Angie, they would look like little sticks! LOL.

well i think they are lovely... you could always try collecting some of the seed if they set?... i find always a good back up plan.
