The scent is very powerful now YDD. It is like scented daffodils or jonquils if you're posh! Beautiful and yes, very welcoming.

I was watering the front garden today and the raised bed at the bottom of the garden smells gorgeous, i planted hyacynths last autumn and they are already flowering, seems a bit early for up here, anyway i was thinking, why didn't i plant them in the pots at the front door, the scent is completley lost where they are now! another lesson learned :)

Your postman must love coming to your door Karen. It is a delight to see your pots growing so well.

Thanks eveyone...SG, I don't know if he does...he insists on leaving mail here for other people's houses....I think the perfume confuses his brain!

Ah, but I haven't put a brush to canvas in months SAn! :)
23 Mar, 2012
thats the problem karen, to much painting going on in my head, so iv got to make time for my garden now, will keep the painting going, monday and tuesday afternoons, not every monday though. also we are going to be doing the pond when joe is home at easter as he is going to help :o))

I have yet to recruit my muscles...but working on it! :) When I get home....pond is getting dug...definitely!

thats great karen, look forward to seeing it started :o))

Yeah! Me too...had various 'plans' and ideas but in the end have decided to go for another hard pond base like yours because of the wet. I think i will have to invest in some flat stones to over-hang the edge as last time the visible edge drove me nuts, especially as it was just ever so slightly 'off' level. Bigger one this time though as the old pond was too small. Mind you, the frogs and toads didn't mind!

good idea about over hanging stones karen, thats what i want to do, also i want some sort of water falling over, not sure what yet, make sure you have something for frogs to climb on to get out of pond especially when mating, this is a time when they can drown when the male is attached to female and she cant get out of pond.
not seen my froggies yet but think they are around cause casper keeps creeping through the plants lol :o))

Yes, don't worry, I shall be catering for them San. I would really like the same as I had before...an urn on it's side overhanging the pond with water trickling out of it, but I don't want to install electricity, so whatever I put will have to be solar.....so exciting!! :))))
23 Mar, 2012
i like those urns to karen, can get lovely solar items now and think work much better than at first, very exciting :o))
off now karen, wrists playing up with typing, nite x
