Spent some time on this Dahlia, which was very helpful to me, managed to get several good closeups....

Not seen one of these this year, was only talking about them the other day, lots and lots of red admirals no painted ladies. lol. :O) Great shot Dd love it :O)

Nope, none here either. We've only had Red Admirals and a very few cabbage Whites. Not even seen a peacock.

We had a lot of Painted Ladies a couple of months ago with a few Peacock butterflies, and now the Red Admirals are in abundance, also seen a Comma.

We have had all of the others but just no painted ladies. lol I cannot believe how many red admirals there has been, much more than usual in the garden, the weather must have suited them more than the others. If we get a mild winter again we are hoping for more of the same next year, it must help their population.
