Daphne x transatlantica 'Eternal Fragrance' (Daphne x transatlantica 'Eternal Fragrance')

Checking back (on GOY), I see this shrub did not flower until June last year

That's quite a difference in the flowering date, Andrewr !
Was it new to your garden last year ?

No TT, it was planted in 2005. Last year's spring was quite cold but this year's has been mild here. It also faces due south so the extra warmth must have really accelerated it this spring

Very pretty flowers......

I love the fragrance of these! Will these do okay in a pot or is it best to put it in the ground?

Daphnes are tricky in pots. They don't like extremes (they will show their displeasure by dying) so if you overwater or let them dry out, you will be left with an empty pot. Better in the ground if you can find space
